What we accept and how we accept it

No donation is too large, or too small. Our warehouse has full dock capabilities and can accommodate everything from passenger vehicles up to 53’ trailers. We receive several full truck loads of product daily, and can accept dry, refrigerated, and frozen items. Our warehouse is staffed and equipped to offload any size delivery.

While having donations delivered to our warehouse is always preferred and appreciated, we can also provide freight for large quantities of items. Whether with our own fleet of trucks, or via a third-party carrier, we can arrange pickups of donations within our 46-county service area.

We also partner with hundreds of retailers throughout Middle Tennessee to rescue unsellable product from their stores. We do this via a fleet of route drivers, who make multiple stops at retail locations throughout the week. If you are a grocery, convenient, or specialty food store with surplus product, please contact us to discuss donation options.

Stringent food safety guidelines call for the food industry to discard items even when they are nutritious and completely safe to eat. Second Harvest wants to step in before this happens and redirect surplus product to our clients. We welcome these types of donations:
