“This year has been tough.”

April, a single mom, was furloughed from her retail job at a store on Broadway in Nashville back in April due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Forced to dip into her small amount of savings, April has struggled to pay her bills and afford food. Fortunately, she has been able to get groceries for herself and her three-year-old daughter Ayla by attending Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee’s Mobile Pantries. 

“It has been such a huge help,” said April. “We are so thankful to everyone who makes this possible.”

“This holiday season has been especially difficult for our neighbors,” said John Floyd, founder and owner of Ole South Properties, Tennessee’s largest homebuilder. “We are once again partnering with Second Harvest to ensure those who are struggling get the food they need this holiday season.”

Ole South recognizes that the need is great in our community with an estimated 1 in 6 individuals – including 1 in 5 children – currently facing hunger in Middle and West Tennessee. 

In addition to their financial contributions, Ole South employees donate their time and energy volunteering at our distribution centers. Whether it’s sorting dry food from our grocery rescue program or packing disaster relief boxes, Ole South is committed to fighting hunger in our community and beyond.
