Pandemic EBT Benefits Approved for Tennessee

The USDA recently approved the continuation of the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) Program for Tennessee students who missed meals during the 2021-2022 school year. Benefits will be issued in late spring for those who are eligible.

P-EBT is available for children that receive free or reduced-price meals through:

  • Participation in the National School Lunch Program or,
  • Enrollment in a Community Eligibility Provision school or,
  • Enrollment in a school operating under Provision 2 or 3,
  • AND their school experienced a closure or reduction of hours of 5 consecutive days

No application is required to receive the benefits for 2021-2022 school year. Qualifying children are automatically enrolled in benefits for 2021-2022 School Year. If your child has previously received an EBT card, keep the card.

In addition to the 2021-2022 plan passing, beginning March 4, 2022, eligible children that did not receive assistance during 2020-2021 school year will receive a retroactive benefit payment. If the child already has an active P-EBT card, the benefits will be added to that card. If a new P-EBT card is needed, visit www.connectebt.com or call 1 (888) 997-9444.
