ACTION THREE

Donate Food

Donate ONE bag of food

Individual food donations and food drives are one of the major channels through which Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee collects food. Each year more than 2 million pounds of food is collected from donations and food drives.
Donating ONE bag of shelf-stable food can be as simple as going through your pantry and collecting items you have in bulk or think that you will no longer use.
Our Most Needed Items are Peanut Butter, Canned Meat (chicken or tuna), Canned Vegetables, Canned Fruit, Pasta, and Cereal.

YOUR ACTION

Sort through your pantry and set aside items you have in bulk or no longer need. OR, head to your favorite grocery store to purchase our most needed items and bring to the food bank. Kroger, one of the sponsors for the Power of ONE Challenge, makes it easy with donation barrels in their stores where you can drop off shelf-stable food items as well.
