At Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, ending hunger has never been something we could do alone. It takes a community of neighbors, volunteers, and partners who believe that one action can change a life. That’s the heart of our Power of ONE campaign, and few partners embody it more than Jackson Financial Inc. (Jackson®).
For 15 years, Jackson has stood alongside us in the fight against hunger across Middle Tennessee. Today, we want to pause and say thank you.
A Partnership Measured in Meals
Since our partnership began, Jackson has donated more than $724,000 to Second Harvest. Because of the food bank’s ability to stretch every dollar, that generosity has translated into more than 2.8 million meals for families, children, and seniors facing food insecurity.
Behind every one of those meals is a real person: a child who can focus in school because they aren’t hungry, a parent who no longer has to choose between groceries and rent, a senior who can eat with dignity. That is the kind of impact 15 years of steady, committed giving makes possible.
Showing Up
Jackson ‘s support goes far beyond financial giving. Their associates have volunteered 900 hours of their time with Second Harvest. Whether they are sorting and packing donations, supporting events, or doing the hands-on work that keeps food moving to the neighbors who need it most, we know Jackson will always show up. On Aug. 20, Second Harvest Food Bank helped commemorate the 20th anniversary of Jackson’s corporate philanthropy program with a service project at its Franklin office, where senior leaders packed 1,500 snack bags for students.
That combination of funding and volunteer time reflects exactly what the Power of ONE is all about. When people donate money, food, and time together, that’s when we see real progress in the fight against hunger.
Why This Support Matters
Right now, 480,00 people across the 46 counties Second Harvest serves face hunger. That includes 1 in every 7 people in Tennessee—and 1 in 5 children. Numbers that large can feel overwhelming, but they get smaller every time a long-term partner like Jackson chooses to take action.
Their commitment is a reminder that consistency changes communities. Hunger doesn’t take a year off, and neither has Jackson.
