Teresa was working as a receptionist until debilitating arthritis left her unable to work. The 56-year-old and her husband, who is also disabled, depend on Social Security and disability benefits to make ends meet, all while raising their young grandson. Money is tight most months and the family often struggles to afford both bills and grocery costs.
Fortunately, the family was able to receive help from a Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee 移动茶水间 at the Woodbury United Methodist Church in Cannon County. At the large scale, mobile food distribution, upwards of 250 families left with trunks full of fresh produce, dairy items, baked goods, frozen protein, and shelf stable items – enough groceries for one to two weeks.
“Thanks to all those who do this for us,” said Teresa.
