Keith Goodwin: “What I love most is helping people”

If you’ve been to our Nashville Distribution Center in the past year, then you’ve probably met Keith.

He’s a regular Reception Support volunteer and assists our full-time receptionist with daily tasks like greeting visitors and answering incoming calls to the food bank.

Since he started volunteering in March 2018, Keith has already logged over 200 hours of service!

KIND AND CARING

Fielding calls at the food bank is no simple task. Those looking for food assistance can be stressed or distraught, but no matter the situation, Keith treats each person he talks to with kindness and respect.

“His words and actions go a long way toward helping them keep their dignity,” Andrea, our Front Desk Coordinator, said. “I just want him to know that his work hasn’t gone unnoticed.”

Keith donates his time week after week, because he believes in our mission and knows that he’s making a difference for those going through difficult times.

“What I love most is helping people find a place to get an Emergency Food Box. It’s such a relief for people to know they have a place to get food when they are running out,” Keith said.

The next time you’re in our lobby and see Keith, make sure to say hello and thank him for donating his time to serve those facing hunger. Our mission would be impossible without passionate volunteers like him!
