The Kroger Reclaim program rescues dry groceries and shelf-ready staples that are not sold by Kroger stores. Instead of processing them at a separate plant and reselling them, they are processed at Second Harvest and distributed to our partner agencies.
Volunteers are needed to work with a staff member in our warehouse, assisting in scanning hundreds of reclaimed items that are then categorized and able to be donated. The ideal volunteer for this position will possess an attention to detail and a desire to work mainly on their own, with the supervision of a staff member.
Kroger Reclaim Volunteers will perform the following duties: identify and scan in food and shelf-stable product using Kroger’s inventory system, categorize the product, occasionally assist in breaking down boxes/ and cleaning up the work area. Volunteers may also be required to lift up to 50 pound boxes.
Attire
The food distribution takes place indoors.
• Closed-toe shoes are required for all volunteers’ safety. No exceptions.
• Masks are welcome, but not required.
• Wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a little dirty. You’ll be standing/walking the entire shift.
