Farm to Families – Glean Team
When: As needed, year-round
Join us in connecting local farmers, community volunteers, and those struggling with hunger to create a more food-secure environment. Members of the Glean Team will assist with gleaning opportunities on Middle Tennessee farms. Produce harvested by the Glean Team will be distributed to those in need by Second Harvest!
Farmers often have crops leftover after a harvest and generously offer this produce to Second Harvest. In those situations, we need to quickly recruit volunteers to harvest that food so it can be distributed to our hungry neighbors.
Gleaning opportunities typically arise just a day or two in advance, so we’re looking for individuals and groups who are available during daytime business hours and able to answer the call to action on short notice. Please only sign up for this opportunity if you have a flexible schedule and can volunteer Monday – Friday in the morning or afternoon.
