As a valued Material Handler at Second Harvest’s Martin Distribution Center in Nashville, Javier is part of an essential team ensuring warehouse operations are running smoothly and efficiently.
How long have you worked for Second Harvest, what is your role, and describe a typical day?
I’ve been working for Second Harvest for almost two years. I started as a Material Handler pulling orders, and now I’m doing dock operations and I’m a member of the cycle count. A typical day for me is coming to work with the best attitude every single day and sharing my happiness with my co-workers while I’m doing my activities around the warehouse.
What do you enjoy most about working for a local hunger-relief organization?
I enjoy everything working for this organization, but knowing that what I do helps other people need makes me love working here!
What is one of your favorite memories of working at the food bank?
In the almost two years of working at Second Harvest, I already have a lot of great memories working at the food bank. Including fun moments I have with my co-workers in the break room and, last year, being part of the mobile pantry we had in the parking lot of the food bank. That was a great experience and a great memory I’ll keep with me forever
When you are not working, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I love spending time with my loved ones! I also love outdoors activities, going to the park and appreciating the nature. I also love reading.
