Each year, our friends at Kroger share their passion for the fight against hunger with their customers. Through their CAN Hunger campaign, Kroger offers the opportunity for shoppers to donate funds to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee while they check out their groceries.
We are overwhelmed by the generosity of Kroger shoppers–whose donations amounted to more than $70,000! The cash was then turned into food items most needed by the food bank.
In addition, Kroger donated $67,000 to Second Harvest as part of its commitment to help end hunger in our community. This donation will provide 268,000 meals to children, families and seniors struggling with hunger in Middle Tennessee.
Campaigns like CAN Hunger provide an easy way for the community to give the gift of hope to our neighbors in need, and we are extremely grateful for the support of Kroger and their customers.
