We are thrilled to share that Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle TN was again recognized for our distinguishing work last week at the 2015 NEXT Awards!

The annual NEXT Awards were developed by the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Nashville Entrepreneur Center to spotlight the companies and individuals whose drive and entrepreneurial spirit are making a significant impact on our region’s economy. Second Harvest Food Bank was announced as the Market Mover in the Social Enterprise and Sustainability category.

As an organization, we have remained committed and exercised great risk in creativity to always be thinking about the best ways that our business model can feed hungry people and work to solve hunger issues in our community. Our Project Preserve program‘s innovation and impact on food waste were the main factors for this award. The other finalists in our Market Movers for Social Enterprise and Sustainability category were AERIAL Development Group, LEAD Public Schools and The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. We are proud to be grouped among such esteemed organizations within our community and grateful for our supporters for enabling us to continue this important work.
