Second Harvest’s Cooks Rule! Cooking Camps are a unique opportunity to get hands-on training in a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen under the guidance of professional chefs. Classes focus on teaching basic knife skills, measuring and weighing, and a variety of cooking techniques, such as sauté, caramelize, blanche, poach, oven bake and roast.
Our Culinary Arts Center hosts cooking camps for children ages 9-17* during the summer months. 2017 Cooks Rule! camp dates below.

Scholarship opportunities are available for each session, and must be submitted by April 7, 2017. Scholarship applications will be reviewed by a panel, then decisions and notifications will be made within two weeks. After April 7, 2017, scholarship applications will be accepted on a case-by-case basis depending on the number of scholarships still available, and those decisions and notifications will be made on a rolling basis.
