Puckett’s Funds 4 Food Reaches its Goal

Throughout the month of April, Puckett’s Grocery at 5th & Church has been collecting and matching funds for Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. Diners could add an extra dollar or more to their check totals to purchase meals for families struggling with hunger.  A. Marshall Family Foods Inc., the parent company of Puckett’s, then matched each donation, achieving the restaurant’s goal of providing 40,000 meals to those in need.

Today Puckett’s presented the check for $10,000 to coincide with The Big Payback — a community-wide day of giving sponsored by The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

“Most people don’t realize that so many in our area go hungry on a daily basis,” said Kyle Williams, senior manager at Second Harvest. “We are blessed to be in a community where companies like Puckett’s help to shed light on the issue and are eager to help give back.”

The Big Payback is a charitable event, helping area nonprofits raise much-needed dollars and bring awareness to pressing needs in the community. In the past three years, The Big Payback has helped raise more than $6.5 million for nearly 800 local nonprofits. Thank you to Puckett’s and to everyone who supported Funds 4 Food in April! There are many ways to give. Together we can have a big impact.
