Other Ways to Get Help

Emergency Food Box

Our Emergency Food Box (EFB) sites feed individuals and families in Davidson County on an urgent-need basis. An EFB provides two to three days of staple food items based on the number of members in each household. Use the map below to find one near you.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Outreach

WHAT IS SNAP?
SNAP is for people with low incomes, including working people, households with children, seniors, unemployed people, immigrant families, and people with disabilities. SNAP helps them buy the food they need for good health.

Second Harvest’s Benefits Outreach Counselor shares information about SNAP benefits, pre-screens potential participants, and helps people fill out the application.

Second Harvest offers SNAP Outreach through our Emergency Food Box sites, Mobile Pantry distributions, and Partner Agencies. In FY21, our SNAP Outreach team helped complete more than 1,000 SNAP applications.

The best way to apply for SNAP is online. If you need help applying for SNAP, you can call or text Second Harvest at 615-310-0752, or send us an email. We’re happy to help.

*If you previously had a SNAP application log in, you will have to create a new account by clicking on ‘Create New Account’ using the Customer Portal link above. If you have created an username and password for the TDHS Relief Portals (Emergency Cash Assistance, D-SNAP, Pandemic Child Care Assistance and/or P-EBT Parent Portal), you may use your existing login information to access services through the new Customer Portal.
