Friends of the Food Bank

If you’re a young professional looking to get more involved with your community and make an impact, Friends of the Food Bank could be a great fit for you. Friends of the Food Bank is a group of passionate young professionals making a difference through volunteerism, fundraising, and community engagement while expanding their professional network.

We are always looking for new members to join Friends of the Food Bank. To apply, use the form below to tell us about yourself and why you would make a great addition to this group. You can also use the form to nominate someone else!

Membership in Friends of the Food Bank is built on three pillars:

Neighbors Helping Neighbors
Support Second Harvest by donating food, time, and money to help your neighbors in need.

Advocacy
Learn about the impact of food insecurity and advocate on behalf of Second Harvest.

Professional Development
Grow your network with other service-driven people.

Being a part of Friends of the Food Bank offers many benefits, including:

  • Standing optional volunteer shift on the second Wednesday of the month

Annual Commitments

Before joining the Friends of the Food Bank young professionals group, there are a few commitments our members make that you’ll need to be aware of:

  • Attend quarterly meetings
  • Attend four Second Harvest volunteer shifts annually
  • Amplify Second Harvest’s mission by participating in campaigns
  • Lead your company in Spread the Love Corporate Challenge (if applicable)
