Tennessee Summer Food Service Program

When school is out for summer, the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) begins. The SFSP is a partnership between the USDA Food and Nutrition Service, the Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS) and community-based organizations to provide free meals to children in their communities throughout the summer. Libraries, schools, community centers, churches, parks, day camps, and apartment communities are just some of the types of organizations that provide free SFSP meals.

It’s easy to find out if there are summer meal sites in your area:

It’s very easy to use the Site Finder to find locations in your community. The Site Finder currently includes 2020 SFSP site information, but it will be updated in the coming months as organizations finalize their SFSP sponsorship information for this summer.

The more parents, children, and teenagers know about where sites are located, the more children will come to eat. Anyone can do outreach to help promote SFSP sites. If there is an open SFSP site in your community, please consider talking with the site coordinator about spreading the word about their site on your social media sites and website. You can also print and share the flier below with families to help promote the program.
