You’re Feeding the Future at Project Reflect

BradyProject Reflect has served the needs of Tennessee children living in poverty since 1992. In addition to providing high-impact education programs, this Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee Partner Agency also offers healthy after-school and summer meals to the boys and girls who attend these programs.

Allison Driver, the executive director at Project Reflect, says that more than 100 children — kindergarteners to 4th graders — rely on the food provided by the program. And that’s possible only through the support of Second Harvest — and caring friends like you.

“The collaboration we have ensures that when the students are with us, they are getting nutritious, healthy meals,” says Allison.

In addition, Allison and the team use the meals as teaching tools. When parents see the link between a child’s energy level and healthy food, they begin to understand the power of good nutrition.

Thinking back on many of the families she’s encountered, Allison remembers one mother who had three kids attending Project Reflect. Learning more about what her children were eating helped her appreciate the importance of fruits, vegetables and other staples in a healthy life.

Thanks to you, this mother’s children — and countless more boys and girls across our community — can receive food and develop healthy habits for a brighter future. Because she sees the impact this food can make, Allison wants you to know that she’s grateful for your partnership in the work we’re all doing to feed hungry children this summer.

“On behalf of our staff, students and families, I want to express my appreciation,” Allison says.

Chaque dollar que vous donnez aide à fournir au moins 4 repas à des familles dans le besoin grâce à Second Harvest.
