Not only is News 2 Food 2 Families an opportunity for local schools to fight hunger, but it’s also an opportunity to show children that they too can make a difference in their community.
On the first day of school, children facing hunger have already fallen behind their classmates. They will have more difficulty concentrating in class, be sick more often, and be less likely to excel academically.
Last year, 31 local schools participated and students donated more than 313,000 pounds. We hope to have an even bigger impact this year!
