Help us distribute food boxes to hungry seniors in Davidson County!
Food boxes are distributed in the lobbies of senior living towers, or to the participant’s apartment door. Volunteers are needed to assist a Second Harvest staff member with the following tasks: client interaction, loading/unloading food boxes, delivering food boxes, and obtaining signatures.

These food boxes are provided through the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), which works to improve the health of low-income seniors by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA foods. CSFP is a federally funded program that Second Harvest manages for Davidson County.

Attire

The food distribution takes place indoors.
• Closed-toe shoes are required for all volunteers’ safety. No exceptions.
• Wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a little dirty. You’ll be standing/walking the entire shift.

Special Instructions

Volunteers must be able to lift 30 lbs and enjoy interacting with seniors.

Please review our Volunteer Policies and Procedures.

This project is not eligible for Court Appointed or Tennessee Promise community service hours.
