Donate Food for your ONE Action

Fighting hunger is a daunting challenge, but, at Second Harvest, we believe in the Power of One. When we come together, and each contribute one
action that’s when we see progress. That’s the power of togetherness. That’s the Power of ONE. This week, we are encouraging you to donate food as your ONE action to fight hunger.

Second Harvest would not be able to provide food to the 314,000 people facing hunger in Middle and West Tennessee if it weren’t for food donations from people like you. Whether it’s canned vegetables or a box of cereal, these donated products go straight into the community without using the Food Bank’s donated dollars to purchase food products. Once donated, your contribution will be sorted by our dedicated volunteers and distributed to our network of nearly 420 Partner Agencies where they will be available for our Middle and West Tennessee neighbors at risk of hunger.

Some of Second Harvest’s most-needed items include:

Peanut Butter (or other nut butters)
Canned Chicken or Tuna
Canned Vegetables
Canned Fruit
Dried pasta
Uncooked Rice
Canned or Dried Beans
Cereal

Donating food to Second Harvest has a massive impact, and is easy, too! Sort through your pantry or head to your favorite grocery store to purchase our most needed items and bring them any Second Harvest locations. If you shop at Kroger, you can even use the blue bins at the front of the store to donate your food to Second Harvest! Individual food donations and food drives are one of the major channels through which Second Harvest collects food. Donating ONE bag of shelf-stable food can be as simple as going through your pantry and collecting items you have in bulk or think that you will no longer use.
