Double you impact on Giving Tuesday (or #GivingFoodDay as we like to call it) on December 1 and bring hope to those struggling with hunger this holiday season.
The holidays looks a little different this year, however there are some things that remain the same, including Giving Tuesday. A global day of giving that is even more critical this year with so many of our neighbors struggling to access the food they need.
In the past eight months Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee has distributed 40% more food than the same time period last year. Economic fallout from the pandemic continues to bring new people to Second Harvest and our Partner Agencies – hardworking families who never thought they’d need a food pantry.
#GivingFoodDay for families like Erika’s
Erika’s husband is working but she lost her job as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now the family is struggling to afford the food they need. Fortunately the family was able to pick up much-needed food at a local Second Harvest meal distribution at Glenview Elementary School in Nashville.
“I am so grateful.” – Erika
Now thanks to a generous group of donors, Second Harvest has a $1 Million match starting today for Giving Tuesday. That means you can double you impact for families like Erika’s, that are struggling with hunger. But we can’t do it without your help!
Your donation is someone’s dinner and with a $1 Million match your gift will be doubled!
