Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee was awarded a 99% and four-star rating from Charity Navigator. This is the highest rating an organization can receive, signifying exceptional performance in terms of financial health, accountability, and transparency. It indicates that Second Harvest Food Bank efficiently uses its resources, adheres to good governance practices, and has a strong commitment to transparency.

Candid

Candid, formally GuideStar, is a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive data and insights on over 2.7 million nonprofits that aims to inform and empower stakeholders.

In 2025, Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee received The Platinum Seal of Transparency, the highest recognition awarded by Candid to nonprofit organizations.  To earn this seal, a nonprofit must provide comprehensive information about its goals, strategies, capabilities, achievements, and progress indicators. This level of transparency helps donors and funders make informed decisions by offering clear insights into the organization's impact and effectiveness.
