Ms. Cheap’s yearly Penny Drive raises nearly $87,000!
In its biggest fundraising year to date, Ms. Cheap’s Penny Drive collected an incredible $86,939 for children, families, and seniors struggling with hunger in Middle Tennessee.
This year’s grand total surpassed last year’s by over $1,600 and will provide more than 340,000 meals to those in need.
The Penny Drive spanned three months, all age groups, and a variety of organizations in our service area.
Thank you to everyone who saved their pennies, held school fundraisers, and even donated their birthday to support our mission. You proved that even small donations can make a big difference.
We’re so thankful to have Mary Hance, a.k.a Ms. Cheap, on our side in the fight against hunger. For the past nine years, her leadership and support has made the Penny Drive a success, raising over $475,000—the equivalent of 1.9 million meals.
We’d also like to thank our partners Wilson Bank & Trust, Kroger, Pinnacle Financial Partners, and The Tennessean, who raised $17,706, $12,224, $8,866, and $3,107 respectively.
