Make A Request From Your Will, Living Trust, Or Insurance Policy

By naming Second Harvest Food Bank as a beneficiary of your will, living trust, or insurance policy, you can leave a legacy that provides much-needed food for our neighbors facing hunger in Middle and West Tennessee for years to come.

The following is an example of the language you can use when making a bequest in your will:

“I, [name], of [city, state, ZIP], give, devise, and bequeath to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee [written amount or percentage of your estate or property] for its unrestricted use and purpose.”

Our tax ID number is 62-1049447.

If you have included Second Harvest in your estate plans, please let us know so that we can properly thank you.

Donor spotlight – Corey Chatis

As a person with strong core values, Corey Chatis decided to plan her estate at a young age. That way she could make certain her hard-earned assets benefit the causes she cares about most.

When deciding which nonprofits to include in her will, the Nashville woman had two criteria: 1) Their missions had to align closely to her values, and 2) they had to be run efficiently so her funds can do the most good.

Second Harvest met both criteria and was a natural fit since Corey knew Second Harvest well as both a volunteer and a donor.

“I know my gift will help local people in need and will be used strategically to have the greatest impact,” she says.
