The holiday season is usually a time of joy and celebration, but for the 1 in 8 Middle Tennesseans – including 1 in 7 children – facing hunger, it’s often a time of hardship.
Nissan, Hankook, Kroger, First Horizon, and Ole South have all committed themselves as partners with Second Harvest to ensure that our neighbors in need have a full table of food to share with friends and family this holiday season!
How our Partners Feed Hope
We are fortunate to work with partners who are more than just generous with their funds – our partners have committed themselves holistically to the fight against hunger.
Partners Nissan and Hankook both have given their time by taking time out of their working day, coming to our Nashville Warehouse, and packing BackPacks for after school programs and Disaster Relief Boxes. These partners were able to pack thousands of pounds of food, to serve thousands of our neighbors in need.
“Housing is necessity, just like food,” said Ole South Founder and Owner John Floyd, “that is why we want to work with Second Harvest. We both give people things they need.”
By hosting a mobile pantry, First Horizon has facilitated the distribution of over 100,000 pounds of food to thousands of people facing hunger in Middle and West Tennessee. These meals are doing more than feeding people, they are feeding hope.
Kroger’s sponsorship has helped raise millions to provide meals during a critical time of year when the need is greatest. Whether it is their food collection sites at Kroger locations across our 46-county wide service area, the 30 mobile pantry sites they support, or their continued financial support of Second Harvest, we know we will always be able to Feed Hope thanks to Kroger’s support.
The 1 in 8 people, including 1 in 7 children, who are facing food insecurity can’t take a holiday from hunger. Give today and help put hope back on the table for our neighbors in need. Thank you to our sponsors for feeding hope this holiday season.
Second Harvest is fortunate to have these partners to help guide our work this Feeding Hope!
