We’re so grateful for our grocery partners and their incredible support. Last year, we are able to rescue more than 10 million pounds of food from nearly 200 stores. This season, many local groceries are sharing their commitment to the fight against hunger with their customers by offering easy ways to support the cause. No matter where you shop, there are convenient ways to give back in time for the holidays!
November 2 – 26: Kroger customers can support Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee by contributing $1 at checkout to provide 4 meals or $5 to provide 20 meals. Customers may make their contribution at checkout with their groceries, and the gift will be shown as a Food Bank donation on their receipt.
November 3 – 23: Visit your local Publix store in November and make a donation during check out by selecting a donation card. The cashier will scan the card, adding the donation to your total and the money will be used to purchase food that will be donated to the Food Bank and distributed to families in need in Middle Tennessee!
November 16 – December 21: While shopping at Food Lion, you can purchase and donate a specially-marked “Holidays Without Hunger” food box for $5, while supplies last, or make a cash donation at checkout. One hundred percent of cash donations benefit Feeding America and local food banks like Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. Food boxes are donated to Second Harvest or one of our partner agencies.
November 4 – DECEMBER 31: For two months, Sprouts shoppers can purchase discounted “Grab n’ Give” bags filled with shelf stable items. The Grab n’ Give bags will be collected for the Food Rescue Agencies to pick up.
November 1 – December 24: Save-A-Lot shoppers may help their hungry neighbors by purchasing and donating a bag of groceries. The bag will contain a can of corn, can of green beans, cranberry sauce, brown gravy mix, boxed stuffing, buttery home-style potatoes, buttermilk biscuit mix, and deluxe fudge brownie mix. The bag retails for $5.99.
November 16 – December 14: Shoppers can support Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee by contributing $1, $3 or $5 at checkout. The donations will be used to purchase food that will be donated to Second Harvest.
