Agency Spotlight: Radical Heart

The ministry formerly known as Heartbeat Ministries at Hermitage Hills Baptist Church has a new face and name.

Donny says Radical Heart food pantry is helping him recover his health after a violent attack left him in the hospital for two weeks.

In keeping with their new look and feel as a result of a major remodel, Hermitage Hills Baptist Church decided to give their long-standing Heartbeat Ministries a makeover as well. The newly launched Radical Heart exists to bring restoration and hope to neighbors in crisis through mentorship, prevention, and resources.

The literal meaning of “radical” is “going to the roots.” This is accomplished by being radically faithful to God and relevant to the world by embracing the Biblical mandate to care for vulnerable children and families through generosity and love.

Ministries provided:

  • Food and clothing assistance
  • Hosting children for families in crisis (through Safe Families for Children)
  • Financial Literacy Training (through the Chalmers Center)
  • Family Coaching and Prayer Support
  • Community Outreach Events
  • Christmas Toy Store

Radical Heart is open to the public Wednesdays 6:00p-7:30p and Thursdays 10:00a-12:30p. They serve neighbors who live in the immediate Hermitage, Donelson, Old Hickory, Madison, and Mt. Juliet communities.
