The Rotary Club of Nashville joined us for our 16th annual Feed the Need project and prepared 1,900 food boxes for local senior citizens in need.
Arriving as early as 5:30 a.m., over 250 Rotarians, family members, and friends packed into Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.
Rotary volunteers bagged 13,500 pounds of fresh apples, sorted 15,000 pounds of nonperishable items, and assembled 4,500 tray meals for senior and disabled residents in Nashville’s Watkins Park community.
“It’s amazing to deliver the food to these families and see the impact on their faces,” said Evette White, Rotary Club of Nashville President.  “These are families that otherwise may not have this kind of a boost for Christmas.”
This year, Feed the Need generated 300 more boxes of food than last year, ensuring that even more families won’t go hungry this holiday season.
Thank you to the Rotary Club of Nashville for your support this year and for the past 16 years. Because of you, hundreds of families will have food on the table this Christmas.
