Many people don’t realize that 1 in 7 people, including 1 in 5 children, struggle with hunger in Middle Tennessee. The holiday season can be a particularly difficult time of year for families struggling to make ends meet.
Fortunately, we partner with friends like Nissan to help fight hunger here in our community. Earlier this December employee volunteers from Nissan joined us at one of our Partner Agencies, Loving Care Ministries in Murfreesboro, to help provide meals directly to those in need.
The Mobile Pantry distribution provided 243 households and nearly 900 individuals with much-needed groceries during the difficult winter months. Hungry neighbors simply drove up to the distribution where Nissan volunteers loaded their car with groceries that will certainly come in handy this holiday season.
